Conquer Everyday Stress With A Dash Of Zen:
This month I’ve hand selected (after much searching) a book called The Anywhere, Anytime Chill Guide: 77 Simple Strategies for Serenity by Kate Hanley. Kate is founder of msmindbody.com, a contributing editor to Body+Soul and a regular contributor on stress relief for goodhousekeeping.com
Kate Hanley, Author and founder of msmindbody.com
She’s a frequent guest on Martha Stewart Living Radio and lives in Brooklyn with her partner and brand new baby. Congratulations Kate. We have an upcoming interview with Kate, right here on the Rejuvenation Lounge so stay tuned for that.
In the meantime, leave a thoughtful comment below to win one of three copies of Kates book. Make sure you leave at least the initial of your last name. A big thanks to Kate for being so generous with the give-aways, and don’t you just love her cheeky smile.
Five Reasons Why I Love This Book:
The Anywhere, Anytime Chill Guide:
1: Kate gives clear, step by step instructions with pictures on how to relieve specific stressful situations. It’s broken down into simple sections. Time needed, instructions, modifications and benefits.
2: No matter what your stressful situation you’ll certainly be able to find a topic that covers it. Topics include fight with husband/boyfriend, hangover, meeting people for the first time, afternoon slump, stuck on hold, tight back, shoulders and neck, depressed, cramps, getting dumped, stuck in traffic and believe me lots, lots more.
3: Kate’s approach is very holistic which I love. She draws on yoga, meditation, nutrition, mindfulness, eastern philosophies such as Chinese medicine and breathing techniques.
4: 77 situations and 77 do anywhere remedies. What more could a girl ask for. I love the “saying no” pose. Gives you the inner strength to say no more often.
5: Here’s a handy trick for when you have a headache: This is an awesome acupressure exercise that targets your head, neck, jaw and face area and its found on your left hand. The fleshy bit between your thumb and index finger. Place your right thumb on top and your right index finger just below. Apply moderate pressure and hold for 30 seconds.
The Perfect Gift For A Stressed Out Friend:
If you are on the look out for a present for a girlfriend or family member, I can highly recommend this book. I’ve even got a copy for myself. Click here to zip over to amazon for The Anywhere, Anytime Chill Guide:
In the meantime make sure you leave a thoughtful comment below and you could be one of the lucky winners.

Heather Colmanon 28 Jul 2008 at 3:17 pm 1Hi Carole,
Nice of you to offer free exposure on your site. I’d be happy to take you up on your offer. What can I do for you in exchange?

Cynthia Benjaminon 01 Aug 2008 at 5:57 am 2Just stumbled across your wonderful site; I already love it and can’t wait to come back. The monthly give a way is a really great idea.
Kirstyon 29 Aug 2008 at 2:58 pm 3is there such thing as sanity in this day and age? I would love to learn some secrets to get some back in my life, especiallywith balancing work and family life. However Carole, i must say i love the rejuvenation lounge and i have visited it daily since i discovered it. For some reason it calms me.
Denise Pinardon 07 Oct 2008 at 5:24 am 4Hi Carole, I hope I’m in the right spot. Jennifer Jeffries is great. I subscribe to her newsletter also (from having found out about her from your website) and it has a lot of common sense and easy to do things.
I’m always amazed as to the books and products you find for your giveaways. Eye pillow….mmmm…lavender….What a nice idea for stockings stuffers for Christmas. I know, I know, who wants to think about that, I realize it is early, but you have given me a wonderfull idea. I could even use fleece (it can get pretty cold here in the winter. It can go down to -40C). Well I guess I shall dust my old sewing machine, I can feel the hamster wheel in brain starting to turn…. Have a great week.

Anja Monnieron 07 Oct 2008 at 7:31 am 5I never miss reading your wonderfully soothing and nourishing articles in the Rejuvenation Lounge, and regularly pass relevant articles on to very grateful family and friends. I am implementing many of your ideas and suggestions into my life, with fabulous results. ( I feel I am turning into a beautiful, calm goddess as we speak - not bad, when you’re on the “wrong” side of 50.) As for the eye pillows - how utterly divine!
LMon 09 Oct 2008 at 6:51 am 6I am learning to take time out for “me” and enjoy recieving the positive energy that radiates from the screen when I visit your site. Currently my Yin/Yang energy flow is out of balance, but with your hints and a divine acupuncturist I’m realising that in order for me to help others I must put myself first some of the time!!!
Eyes are often taken for granted, but as I use a computer all day in a dry stuffy office, I can think of a better treat than to rest them with an eye pillow.

cynthiaon 24 Oct 2008 at 5:48 am 7Carole,
Especially during these crazy stressful times in the US I always look forward to your reminders to become Calm!
thanks very much!
Jamila Norrison 27 Oct 2008 at 11:54 am 8Thanks for a chance!
Nicoleon 30 Oct 2008 at 5:15 am 9Thank you for the awesome tips on relaxation. I always enjoy the end of my yoga class because that’s when we lay down, quiet our minds, and relax. Depending on what I need to do that evening, it either relaxes or rejuvenates me.
Cheers!
