“All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone” Blaise Pescale.

Hello wise friend,

I happen to believe that the right words at the right time change the content, depth and horizon of our lives.  You might also agree. I’ve written before about collecting higher words here.

Remember, perhaps, the time you were nudged in the ribs, by an unseen presence, to pick up a book, flick through the pages and read a floating sentence.  Random words that shouted a heart felt truth. The words diving head first into the deepest part of you. Your inner knowing was impressed. You stood up straight. Took notice.

Without a doubt you were meant to read those words. At that precise delicious time. It’s mystical.  It’s magical.  You know it is!

But the big question is, my friend, do you throw away those words as quickly as they came to you  or do you inhale them, move them through your body. Give them light. Journey with them.  If only for a week or so.

And so today I share with you 57 brilliant beguiling words from Iain Thomas.  They comfort my passion for slow living. Soothe the sensibilities of my souls yearning.  These words are a tonic for distracted inflamed living.

I have written these words onto paper. I read these words first thing in the morning.  Orient my inner compass and head off into the day.

I am learning to let go of the distractions.  The heavyness.  The illusions. The bullying of screens. Broken boundaries. It is a work in progress.  That’s life.

I think you’ll love this poem.

The Grand Distraction:

And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important!

You need to worry about this! And this! And this!”

And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No.

This is what’s important.”    Iain Thomas Poet

Iain Thomas is a South African born poet. His book I Wrote This For You and Only You was a finalist for poetry book of the year. I love his written words. They are other worldly. His musings are here.

Well, that would be it from me for today.

May the medicine in you Rise my friend, one pause, one breath and one healing ritual at a time. xox  Carole
