Monthly Feature: Rejuvenation Tips To Grab On The Run:

“Meditation Tip: Never turn your computer on until you have meditated.

Research shows that meditation can bring a dramatic change to your life with a simple 10 minute a day practice.  Meditation can cultivate focused attention, concentration, a longer attention span and emotional stability. Long term meditation supports your spiritual growth whilst enhancing your intuition. For me personally, meditation allows me to feel calm, still and safe on the inside. It brings me back to me.

Meditation Does Make A Difference:

“No meditator has every died from feeling restless, anxious or agitated during a meditation session.“

Meditation needn’t be challenging nor frustrating. Know there are many styles out there, and simple ways you can ease yourself into a practice of meditation.

Over the next few months I’ll be sharing posts on different meditation styles that I have explored and experienced over the past 20 years. They will  include walking meditation, Balinese smiling meditation,  green meditation, prayer, mantra meditation, mandala meditation, sound meditation, humming meditation, guided meditation, yoga nidra, zen meditation and autosuggestion/autogenous meditation

In the meantime enjoy, yet some more monthly tips on the run which I have hand selected from my posts over at Twitter recently.

10 Meditation Tips To Grab On The Run:

1:  A Simple Meditation.  Breath in through your nose and tell your mind to stay focused on your breath.

2:   “Relax your body, follow your natural breath, watch the sensations in your body, rest into natural silence”  Kam Meditation Instructor

3: Meditation joins the body and the mind via the breath.

4:  Conscious breathing is the most basic Buddhist practice for touching peace.

5:  “To meditate is to be aware of what is going on - in our bodies, our feelings, our minds and the world around us” Thich Nhat Hanh

6:  Tests have shown that meditation can be more effective than a nap in improving performance and concentration.

7: Strengthen Your Focus: A daily 5 minute meditation break, sharpens your concentration powers. Focus on your breath, a word or even a mantra.

8: “No one can be successful in the art of meditation without having passed through the gate of breathing”  Thich Nhat Hanh

9:  “Time a stick of incense. Once you know how long it takes to burn, you can use it to determine the lengths of your meditation sessions” Helen Tworkov

10: By meditating on words that embody your highest ideals, you drive them deep into your consciousness

    Lovely post, Carole!
I would like to add a ‘meditation tip on the walk’:

When walking, take a moment to feel your feet on the ground

    Cheers

Great post. I just realized I haven’t meditated at all recently. Time to sit and be still again. It’s true, even five minutes is absolutely worthwhile.

@ Mary. Thanks for sharing the tip with everyone. I’ve been exploring walking meditation a little more lately with the help of Thich Nhat Hanh

@ David Glad this post reminded you to stop, breath and rest in stillness. Let me know how it goes.

Good tips for meditation - I like to work my meditation in with prayer, it seems to go hand in hand for me…

Sometimes what you wear matters in doing some body exercise. You have to be in your most comfortable attire when meditating. In this way, you will be able to concentrate in what you do. You must ask for tips from the people who had been into such activities.
