Monthly Feature: I Dare You To Do Something Different:

Outrageous energy suckers, be warned, your days are numbered.

To continue with last months theme and my recent article Five Rejuvenation Questions You Need To Ask Yourself I felt there is no better time than right now, today, this very moment to identify then eliminate (kapow) one or more pesky, nagging, annoying energy sucker from your life.

This month is all about you and I strengthening our boundaries. Let’s get clear with who or what we no longer choose to allow and invite into our personal space. Let’s eliminate one outrageous energy sucker from our lives, once and for all.

Definition Of An Outrageous Energy Sucker:

Why outrageous you ask. Simple. You are aware at some level that this place, person, situation or thing drains your energy every time, guaranteed. Yet you continually allow, and invite it into your world. Now, thats outrageous.

Why do you do it? Why do I do it? It doesn’t matter.

What does matter is, this month I am daring you and daring myself to identify just one outrageous energy sucker and stop the depletion from this day forward.

Outrageous energy suckers are a waste of time, space and energy. Offer absolutely no value to our lives what so ever. They take us further away from rejuvenation, and even further away from allowing more joy and bliss into our lives. We end up living a very restricted version of ourselves if we don’t start creating stronger boundaries by learning to say no to outrageous energy suckers.

An outrageous energy sucker is wasting our precious energy unnecessarily. It sucks, never gives and its outrageous.

Take Control Of Your Outrageous Energy Sucker:

It’s simple:

  • Go cold turkey and eliminate it once and for all from your life.
  • Reduce your exposure to it, so its realistic and doable for you. One small step at a time.
  • If you can’t eliminate and can’t reduce your exposure then change the way you exchange energy with your outrageous energy sucker. Create a strong boundary around yourself so you can observe the outrageous energy sucker from a distance. You refuse to pay any significant attention to it and are not fueling nor plugged into its evils ways.

Clues As To Where You Might Find Your Outrageous Energy Sucker:

Here’s a few ideas to get the ball rolling if you are having trouble choosing your most outrageous energy sucker.

  1. A person, friend or family member
  2.

  3. Certain places e.g shopping centres (I avoid them as much as I can)
  4.

  5. Poor quality or inappropriate foods. If I eat wheat I feel a heaviness and depletion of my energy almost immediately. If I eat home cooked organic food my energy levels rise, if I don’t they plummet.
  6.

  7. Environmental toxins in your home eg. using too many chemicals or over exposure to electrical radiation. This is somewhat of an intuitive gut feeling that you get. You just know when its time to start swapping one toxic item in your home for a greener option. For example I have also had an intuitive feeling from the day they were invented never to buy or use a microwave oven.
  8.

  9. Scattered thoughts can throw your energies out into the world randomly wasting your energy into areas that have no real purpose or relevance in your life. Calmer thinking and calmer breathing is required. My mind, at times can be a huge outrageous energy sucker, particularly on the computer.
  10.

  11. Lack of movement. No energy to exercise. Did you know it requires far more energy to hold onto all that old sluggish, stuck energy in your body. Your body is using twice as much energy to do the same thing as a reasonably healthy person would. Lack of movement can definitely zap your energy.
  12.

  13. A slave to your electronic gadgets. Feeling obliged to answer phones, mobiles, pagers, emails etc. I personally don’t use my mobile phone. I find it invades my personal space, is extremely demanding and has no respect for what I’m currently focused on. Convenient yes but to me, an outrageous energy sucker.
  14.

  15. Driving. Some people enjoy driving I personally avoid it where possible.
  16.

  17. TV, newspaper and media. Distressing and upsetting news can easily suck your energy. I personally avoid the news and don’t read newspapers for that reason.

It would be fabulous if you could leave your own personal outrageous energy sucker in the response comments box to help others who may be having trouble deciding who or what their energy suckers are.

Good luck with this months dare and many thanks for reading my article. Peace, love and chai tea. Carole
