Sorry if I’m being pedantic but your math is wrong.

You state that removing 5% of the contents of 6 rooms is equal to 30% of the total amount of possessions. This is wrong. It is equal to 5% of the total possessions. To get rid of 30% of total possessions you would have to get rid of 30% of the stuff in each room.

Carole, I fully agree that physical items give off energy and a group of items within a specific area create a collective energetic field. It only make sense that–as you point out–these items could reinforce experiences that you associate with them.

I have found that when I work on myself and am growing spiritually that I go through cleaning and clearing stages where I do let go of old possessions that no longer suit who I am on my path. Great article.

Hi Carole,
Good to see you back and like I am being influenced by Zen to Done too. Gradually working through each room Just don’t go too overboard. We had a big garage clean out on Sunday, lots of boxes etc and then when Des’s laptop decided to have a blank screen and we went to look for the box- that was one we had disposed of!
