Are you living a restricted version of yourself, stale and predictable?
It’s that time of the month again where I am daring myself and daring you to do something different no matter how big or small, significant or insignificant. Your resistance or inability to step out of your comfort zone and explore the new simply shrinks your experience as a human being. So let’s free up your resistance and be totally open to feeling and experiencing the new.
Guidelines:
This monthly post is simply a reminder to observe your life and notice where you may becoming stale, rigid or set in your ways. One of the greatest aging factors in our life is inflexibility of both the mind and body. A rigidness slowly creeps in over the years offering you a very restricted existence as a human being.
By creating a monthly awareness to practice flexibility with your mind and daily activities you create a freedom that has the potential to open up new pleasures, excitements, joys and opportunities. You have no idea what life might present to you if you drive to work a different route, take up yoga, go vegetarian, learn a new language or hang out at a new cafe.
The following are a few simple guidelines to help you get started. You are welcome to email me with any questions or if you have some feedback.
1. Whatever you choose to do differently certainly does not have to be a permanent habit or ritual in your life.
2. Just think of the next 30 days as simply a fun experiment, if you like the change then keep it, if you don’t then try something else next month
3. You can certainly choose to do a “one off” activity or gesture that you have been thinking about for a while such as horse riding or scuba diving.
4. You can do your “something different” as often or as little as you want.
5. It can be silly and fun such as cleaning your teeth with the opposite hand or wearing different coloured undies that you normally would not wear.
How can I do it more simply?
One thing I must say that I constantly ask myself is “How can I do this task more simply?”. Just because I have been doing an activity a certain way that works well doesn’t mean there isn’t a simpler, lighter, more energy efficient or rewarding way of going about it. Adding constant simplicity into my life brings stacks of new pleasures and experiences.
Thanks for reading this post.
Peace, love and loads of flexibility to you all, Carole.
