Detox and de-stress: A regular feature:

The energy in your home is forever changing. It effects how you think, feel, respond and act. It speaks to you via your feelings. It influences your moods and emotions.

It is for this reason I am constantly purifying and uplifting the “feeling” or “vibe” or “atmosphere” of the unseen energy in my home (particularly with 3 boys).

I want each and everyone of my family to feel instantly surrounded by a calm, nurturing presence as soon as they walk through the front door. I want their stress, worries and concerns to dissolve automatically.

It’s important to tune into how your home is feeling - not how it looks but how it makes your feel.

Allowing 5 minutes a day to adjust and uplift the vibe of your home with awesome vibrational remedies is a simple way to go if you are keen for your home to be filled with lightness, serenity, calm, fun and harmony.

Get to know and love your essential oils:

I’m a lover of simplicity. For over 20 years I’ve been searching, exploring and experimenting with many alternate healing modalities. Most require very little of my time and energy, yet potently work quietly in the background continuously adding to the nurturing calm feeling of my home.

It is for this reason I am a passionate lover of essential oils. Attended lots of workshops and am always experimenting with different blends to balance specific family issues and problems.

Essential oils can emotionally support you by:

  • Protecting your space
  • Removing negativity and anger
  • Uplifting your spirits
  • Changing your mood
  • Instilling peace and tenderness
  • Sooth stress, anxiety and depression
  • Grounding and centering you
  • Help you lighten up and have more fun
  • Uplift you emotionally physically and spiritually
  • Re-balance you
  • Calm and relax you

My personal favorite eleven essential oils that offer serenity, calm and peace to a busy family home:

  1. Ylang Ylang - Is a feminine energy that brings peace love and tenderness. Ideal if there is alot of anger energy around or if you are like me and have a house full of boys and need to bring softness to their energies.
  2. Lavender - Relieves nervous tension and headaches. Great for insomnia. It nurtures, calms and protects your space.
  3. Frankincense -Helps protect you and your space from negative energy and the releasing of worry and being overwhelmed. I use it often if I am stressed and don’t want the stressed anxious energy lingering in my home.
  4. Jasmine: I absolutely love this essential oil. It is emotionally soothing and relaxing. I find it helps my boys if they have ants in their pants and feeling restless.
  5. Lemon: Uplifts you emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It’s the oil I seem drawn to using all the time at the moment.
  6. Sandalwood: I have always intuitively used this essential oil when I move into a new house. I will burn it continuously every day for at least 3 weeks or until I feel all the negativity from the previous owners has vanished. Great to use after you have had difficult or negative visitors. I often use even after something disturbing has come onto the TV.
  7. Lime: Firstly this oil reminds me of my favourite place on earth Bali. It carries the same vibe of Bali where all you want to do is relax and just chill out. Great for weekends and will encourage your visitors and family to do the same.
  8. Geranium: Would have to be the most consistent oil I have used over the past 20 years. It has an amazing ability to re-balance me and my space.
  9. Vetiver: I’m addicted to vetiver. I often dab a few drops on my wrist or souls of my feet in the morning to stop me rushing. Helps ground, centre and relax you. Great for your nerves.
  10. Bergamot: Promotes cheerfulness and soothes feelings of anger and frustration
  11. Chamomile: Assists you in letting go of emotional worries and breaking down patterns that are limiting to your potential.

One of the first things I do most mornings is light my oil burner. I may use one or two essentials oils depending on what I am drawn to intuitively. The oils will gently shift and balance the energies in my home for around the next six hours or so or until the candle burns out.

Professional blends from Jennifer Jefferies:

I’m a fan of Jennifer Jefferies, author, professional speaker, naturopath, aromatherapist and health practitioner but most importantly she rocks as a fellow Aussie. After participating in her workshops I’ve personally found Jennifers essential oil blend suggestions exceptional.

vevitver, lime, lavender and cedarwood

For serenity:

frankincense, geranium, lavender and ylang ylang

Play more:

May Chang, Orange, Grapefruit and Gin

Releasing anger :

Free aromatherapy e-book from Jennifer:

If you zip over the Jennifers site she is offering a free e-book on aromatherapy. It will explain simply everything you need to know about using essential oils plus some great essential oil blend suggestions for the office which of course can be used for your home.

Hi! I’m here through the SAHM Carnival over at Wired for Noise…

I’ve been negligent in de-stressing my family and home…I’ve used essential oils before but have gotten out of the habit. Your post has certainly sparked my interest again! I can almost smell lime right now….mmmmmm!!!

    Hi Carol!

I can’t wait to start this new ritual in my home! Not a big fan of candles, so this is a great option.
P.S. This is my first Ever response to a blog.
    I am loving Ms. Carol!
    In Gratitude,
    Diane
