Rejuvenate Your Habits:

If I am NOT grounded my manifesting skills are greatly diluted.

My mind and body are split, my mind goes one way and my body is left somewhere else. I miss vital guidance from the universe, get distracted easily, can’t complete tasks, overlook my hunger and thirst needs, make silly little mistakes and waste bucket loads of time and energy unnecessarily with stress, worry and insignificant distractions.

I am just NOT fully “with it” even though I think everything is OK and I appear to be cleverly going through the motions.

When I am fully grounded magic happens without a doubt. There is a delightful flow to my days. Yeah!

There is no rush or rushing. I feel quietly calm inside, clear and focused. There are no stresses pulling me back into the past or worries pushing me aggressively into the future.

The choices I make and directions I choose when grounded feel so amazingly right and perfect, without any hesitation or back chat from my mind. The answer is clear with absolutely no doubts or what ifs. This is a wonderful thing. My whole being is involved in the process and not just my head. I have to admit I still get a buzz when this happens even today and when decisions don’t flow easily that’s my cue to ground myself even more. Simplicity and flow have always been my thing.

When problems or difficulties arise they are resolved easily as I am centered and “plugged in” allowing me to calmly look at all options. I do not waste or splatter my precious energy frantically around scrambling for a solution with a sense of fear or urgency hanging over my head. You can’t buy into dramas when you are firmly connected to the physical plane. Toxic drama’s, stress and worries dissolve. Yes, the earth has an amazing automatic ability to de-stress and balance us but only if we consciously choose to connect.

Practicing the art of grounding is an energy efficient healthy living tool that can save you enormous amounts of time and energy.

The anatomy of grounding:

You are receiving much needed energy from below and above. You are totally “plugged in” to the energy which fills our entire universe and feel totally connected to it all. It’s like catching the right wave at the right time in the surf that brings you easily to shore. There is a harmonious flow to your life.

Ideally you will be receiving and drawing energy up from our earth filling your entire body as you benefit from its calming and balancing effect. You’ll also be accessing inspiration, creativity and intuitive guidance from the energies above. A duality occurs where the two yin and yang energies merge and flow effortlessly through your being.

Who wouldn’t want all of this:

  • Energy flows freely through you up from the earth below and down from the universe above
  • Stress and tension energy blocks are dissolved naturally from your physical body when you are drawing sufficient energy up from the earth.
  • Your whole being is involved in all decision processes and not just your head
  • You feel whole and complete trusting in the flow of your life
  • You feel calm and clear
  • You live with expanded awareness which is a true gift
  • Your intuitive guidance is grounded yet practical in its application

Is it easy to master being grounded all the time? I don’t think so.

For me personally a grounding ritual only in the morning is now not enough if I wish to stay connected and aligned to my journey here on this planet. There are too many energies pulls and flashing media distractions frantically screaming for my attention. Plus having endless inspiration and ideas is useless unless I am able to ground and manifest them in a practical earthly way. I want to be fully plugged into my life.

Following is a small list of well being rituals that I personally have used for over 20 years depending on the situation I am in. They will be added to my Well Being Tool Box on this site.

Remember it’s the feedback from your body and the flow of your life that lets you know how ungrounded or grounded you are.

Grounding recipes for your wellbeing tool box:

First and foremost pay attention to your physical needs such as thirst, hunger and rest. Too easy!

Rushing around skipping meals, forgetting to drink, staying up late will definitely scatter and fragment your energies and unplug you from YOU. If you are hungry or thirsty you are not grounded.

Get grounded in your shower:

Shower time can be valuable YOU time. Spend a precious few minutes as you visualize or sense a flow of continuous energy going deep into the earth from your legs and then flowing back up into your body and up to your head.

Laminate the words “I’m grounded” and put them on your shower wall to remind yourself to repeat this beneficial well being ritual.

Eat mindfully.

Do you consciously enjoy all your meals. Do you notice in detail the taste, flavour and texture of your food or are you too busy gulping it down with your body in one place and your mind somewhere else. You must have full awareness of all your senses when eating. Eating on the run unplugs you from you.

Think of your feet often:

Get your shoes off, walk around the house in bare feet and dance.

Think of your feet often. You’ll be surprised what a difference it makes. Bring your awareness and energies away from your head and back into your body, legs and feet. Your feet are the closet things to the ground so let them feel the soil, dirt, grass, sand or surface under them DAILY. Rub and massage your feet notice how they feel. Become aware of how you stand. Are you leaning to one side, favoring one foot or are both feet firmly planted on the ground.

I walk most days in my bare feet along our local beach. The days I don’t I can definitely notice the difference as to how my day flows.

Get hydrated:

Get hydrated. Get hydrated. Get hydrated. If my children are not hydrated they are spacey, vague and just not with it. Carry a water bottle everywhere with you. Ideally sip every 15 minutes particularly if you are on the computer. Easy to do in summer a little more effort needed in winter.

Get present and leave the stress behind:

Snap out of it. Get totally present and expand your awareness brightly into the NOW and observe in detail everything that is around you NOW. This brings your focus away from the stress and drama in your head. Turn up the volume of the colours, lights, sights and smells which you are sitting, standing or walking in. When your senses come alive it brings energy into your body and away from your head. You are also more in tune with your physical needs. This is great to do anywhere anytime particularly if you are stressing out.

Ground your body with food:

Feast on foods that ground you. Complete protein is needed to anchor your energies firmly into the earth and your body.

Ground your home:

Ground the air in which you live and work. I personally burn an essential oil called Vetiver. It has a very earthy smell and very very grounding. If I find myself getting too spacey I often dab some onto the souls of me feet to help pull the energies back into my body. Adding grounding crystals such as black tourmaline can help vibrationally. I also have a large piece of black tourmaline in the centre of my home to ground it energetically.

Hug a tree or pretend:

Hug a tree or if you can’t hug a tree pretend that you are a tree. Imagine your roots delving deep into the ground anchoring you firmly into our earthly plane and feel the tensions and worries dissolve. They say you should take a break from your computer every 50 minutes and ground yourself by lying on your lawn or hugging a tree.

Exercise is grounding:

Exercise is very grounding. My personal preferences are yoga, tai chi or qi gong as they all focus on bringing your awareness back into the body and get you very quickly grounded to our earth.

Wear red undies:

The base chakra is the colour red and if this is blocked you will have trouble grounding. Red is the colour which stimulates this chakra and wearing red underwear can help ground you.
