Rejuvenate with yoga:
“I rest well. I sleep peacefully, and I awaken with joy” Louise Hay
If I am not grounded my manifesting skills are greatly diluted. My mind and body are split. I miss vital guidance from the universe, get distracted easily, can’t complete tasks, overlook hunger and thirst and make silly little mistakes which waste bucket loads of my time and energy unnecessarily. I am simply not fully “with it” even though I think everything is OK as I appear to be cleverly going through the motions.
When grounded there is a flow to your day:
There is no rush or rushing. I feel quietly calm inside, clear and focused. When problems or difficulties arise they are resolved easily as I am centered and “plugged in” allowing me to calmly look at all options. I do not waste or splatter my precious energy frantically around scrambling for a solution with a sense of fear or urgency hanging over my head.
Practicing the art of grounding is an energy efficient healthy living tool that can save you enormous amounts of time and energy.
- Energy flows freely through you up from the earth below and down from the universe above
- Stress and tension energy blocks are dissolved naturally from your physical body when you are drawing sufficient energy up from the earth.
- Your whole being is involved in all decision processes and not just your head
- You feel whole and complete trusting in the flow of your life
- You feel calm and clear
- You live with expanded awareness which is a true gift
- Your intuitive guidance is grounded yet practical in its application
Simple ways to get grounded:
1: Pay attention to your body – thirst hunger:
Rushing around skipping meals, forgetting to drink, staying up late will definitely scatter and fragment your energies and unplug you from YOU. If you are hungry or thirsty you are not grounded.
2: Be present when you eat. Don’t multi task:
Do you consciously enjoy all your meals. Do you notice in detail the taste, flavour and texture of your food or are you too busy gulping it down with your body in one place and your mind somewhere else. You must have full awareness of all your senses when eating. Eating on the run unplugs you from you.
3: Go barefoot:
Get your shoes off, walk around the house in bare feet and dance.
Think of your feet often. You’ll be surprised what a difference it makes. Bring your awareness and energies away from your head and back into your body, legs and feet. Your feet are the closet things to the ground so let them feel the soil, dirt, grass, sand or surface under them DAILY. Rub and massage your feet notice how they feel. Become aware of how you stand. Are you leaning to one side, favoring one foot or are both feet firmly planted on the ground.
I walk most days in my bare feet along our local beach. The days I don’t I can definitely notice the difference as to how my day flows.
4: Stay hydrated:
Get hydrated. Get hydrated. Get hydrated. If my children are not hydrated they are spacey, vague and just not with it. Carry a water bottle everywhere with you. Ideally sip every 15 minutes particularly if you are on the computer. Easy to do in summer a little more effort needed in winter.
5: Breathe into your feet and into the present moment:
Snap out of it. Get totally present and expand your awareness brightly into the NOW and observe in detail everything that is around you NOW. This brings your focus away from the stress and drama in your head. Turn up the volume of the colours, lights, sights and smells which you are sitting, standing or walking in. When your senses come alive it brings energy into your body and away from your head. You are also more in tune with your physical needs. This is great to do anywhere anytime particularly if you are stressing out.
6: Let nature ground you:
Hug a tree or if you can’t hug a tree pretend that you are a tree. Imagine your roots delving deep into the ground anchoring you firmly into our earthly plane and feel the tensions and worries dissolve. They say you should take a break from your computer every 50 minutes and ground yourself by lying on your lawn or hugging a tree.
7: Exercise is grounding:
Exercise is very grounding. Walking is perfect. Any form of exercise gets you out of your head and back into your body.
My personal preferences are yoga, tai chi or qi gong as they all focus on bringing your awareness back into the body and get you very quickly grounded to our earth.
8: Wear red undies:
The base chakra is the colour red and if this is blocked you will have trouble grounding. Red is the colour which stimulates this chakra and wearing red underwear can help ground you.
