Rejuvenate You: Add More Joy:

I feel sorry for joy. It so often gets overlooked. It doesn’t do anything practical like pay the bills, cook or clean, yet it has an enormous influence over our mental, physical and spiritual well being which can greatly effect our daily energy levels.

Joy simply fuels our body with the right vibes. Yeah!

You don’t need any detailed instructions, lots of money, heaps of time or complex ways to getting joy right. The best part is, it is so often disguised in the most simplest of activities.

All you need to do is take a moment to feel in your heart (not think in your head) about what brings YOU joy and add those moments of joyful pleasure into your daily life.

DAILY is the key, not weekly, fortnightly, monthly or sometimes.

Life is meant to be joyful.
Whenever I feel my life is getting “out of control”, taken over by my three boys or drained of all enthusiasm and energy I simply need to ask, “Have I added any slices of joy into my life today? The answer is always glaringly obvious - NOT.

What was I thinking!!!

The best part is JOY can be very energy and time efficient.

It can take an energy efficient 3 or 4 minutes depending on what simple pleasures bring you joy.

For me personally a pot of freshly brewed chai tea gives me the greatest pleasure and adrenalin rush of joy at this very moment in my life. It warms me up during our winter Australian months. Firstly, it actually makes me stop and take time out. No more drinking cuppa’s in the car or at the computer - Where is the joy in that? You can’t multi task when experiencing joy.

The freshly brewed aroma’s of cinnamon, cardamon, cloves and nutmeg make my heart sing with joy for hours. I must have lived in Indian in a past life. I can honestly say even three hours after having a great pot of chai tea I am still living that moment of joy as if still sipping on my chai tea. From start to finish it takes me around 10 minutes to brew and then sip away joyfully on.

Simplicity is my thing.

I’m always looking at how I can make any inspiration, idea, activity, situation or problem simpler. So why not focus on simple joy. Not complex, time consuming, hours to organise joy ………… just plain old simple joy.

The benefits of adding joy:

  • Allows you to re-balance and centre.
  • Releases stress and worry in an instant
  • Gets you to stop, surrender and let go
  • Brings you into the present moment (you are not thinking about the past or future simply the joyful moment)
  • Fills every single cell in your body with a high vibration - you can then expect more good things
  • You are adding more joy energy to our beautiful planet
  • Great example to show our kids
  • Keeps you connected to your inner wise voice
  • Fills your home and work space with joyful vibes

So how many slices of joy are you going to add to your day today?

My five slices of joy for today are:

  1. Pot of freshly brewed chai tea
  2. Writing this article …. I love writing
  3. Reading - currently reading Eat, Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
  4. Listening and laughing with my children
  5. Yoga

Other days it may be walking on the beach, listening to music, buying some fresh flowers or catching up with a friend. All work and no joy, drains vital life force energy from you.

Perhaps the very reason I am writing this blog is because I really need to pay more attention to attracting more joyful moments into my life or perhaps I have been inspired to awaken the sparks of joy within you.

Let me know what your five slices of simple joy are for today and lets spread the word to those who are in desperate need of more joyful moments throughout their day.

As a busy working Mum the ultimate ultimate adrenalin rush of joy for me is a massage. Sure it may not be energy efficient as it takes around one and half hours and its definitely not cost efficient but wow, does it give my entire body, mind and soul of rush of joy that’s deep and lasting.

Thanks for reading my article.

Peace, love and joyful moments to you all, Carole.

I love looking for at least 5 things each day that make my heart melt, my soul sing, and my smile grow. I think it develops a habit of happiness. Great post!
